Carter's Review
This handsome, beige-brick, 34-story building at 1675 York Avenue was erected in 1974 and has 383 rental apartments.
It was built by Glenwood Management, a major developer in the city of luxury rental apartments.
The free-standing building, which is known as the Andover and also has the addresses of 444 East 89th Street and 447 East 88th Street, has a two-story polished dark stone base, a revolving front door, sidewalk landscaping, a doorman, a concierge, a circular driveway, a garage, consistent fenestration, and a roof deck. It has an entrance marquee and an attended service entrance as well as bicycle and personal luggage storage.
The building, which is known as the Andover, is close to Carl Schurz Park, the Asphalt Green recreation center and The East River.
There is excellent cross-town bus service on 86th Street and a subway station at Broadway and 86th Street.
