Carter's Review
This attractive, 24-story apartment building was erected in 1972 and converted to a cooperative in 1986. It has 141 apartments.
The beige-brick building has a one-story polished beige granite base, with a two-story entrance surround with wall lanterns. It has a seven-step-up entrance, discrete air-conditioners, corner balconies, a doorman, a concierge, consistent fenestration, sidewalk landscaping and a roof-deck. It has no garage but there is one across the street. The building has no health club and no driveway.
It is across the avenue from the very handsome Mayflower apartment building that is distinguished by its bold balconies.
Elaine's, the famous restaurant is one block north across the avenue and there are many other restaurants in this lively neighborhood, which also has excellent local shopping and very good bus service. There is an express subway station at 86th Street and Lexington Avenue.
There is considerable traffic on the avenue as well as considerable nightlife.
While there are no nearby parks, this neighborhood has numerous apartment towers and the charming Carnegie Hill neighborhood with its many cultural and religious institutions and many private schools is nearby to the west.
