Carter's Review

This lavish 30-story condominium apartment building at 200 East 95th Street on the southeast corner at Third Avenue was scheduled for completion in 2017 and is known as The Kent.  It has 83 apartments.

Extell Development Corporation, whose other projects include One57, 995 Fifth Avenue, the Lucida, Ariel East, and the Carlton House, is the builder,

Beyer Blinder Belle is the architect.  Alexandra Champalimaud is the interior designer. West 8 is the urban design and landscape architect.

It has convenient public transportation.

Bottom Line

Large apartments with high ceilings, eat-in kitchens, and great master baths impressively lined with fine marble in an attractive, red-brick, Carnegie Hill tower with a three-tier illuminated crown and many amenities including a tree-house.

Description

The building is distinguished by its three tiers of thin rooftop “lanterns.”

It has a double-height, indented entrance with a bronze marquee with a rusticated limestone base.

The orange-brick tower has corner windows and a dark metal section of windows in the middle of its avenue façade that is repeated at the corners of the 26th and 27th floors. The 28th and 29th floors are setback and have broad dark red banding.

The elegant double-height lobby has rosewood paneled walls with etched metal inlays and patterned floors.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour doorman, a concierge, a stroller valet, a canine spa, a bicycle room, cold storage, a fitness center with a 55-foot-long pool with a backlit sculptural wall, Camp Kent which is an indoor/outdoor children’s area with a treehouse and picnic table, the Sound Lounge designed by Lenny Kravitz with a stage, dance floor and gaming consoles, The Drawing Room with fireplace, gold leaf ceiling, wood paneling and a marble-topped bar, The Grand Salon is a wood-paneled lounge off the garden with a fireplace, catering kitchen, library and billiards table,

Ceilings heights range from 10 to 15 feet.

Master baths have magnificent Alexis Azul marble with Bianco Dolomiti accents and a stepped ceiling and Axor designer fittings and accessories by Patricia Urquiola

Kitchens are available in Ivory, Opal or Onyx palettes with cabinetry with metal mesh accented upper glass doors, Miele appliances and Sub-Zero wine storage.

Floors in the great rooms are either ebonized or brushed oak.

Apartment A on the 17th through the 25th floors is a five-bedroom unit with a 14-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 35-foot-long gallery that opens onto a 33-foot-long living/dining room that is adjacent to a 13-foot-long family room that is open to a 15-foot-wide kitchen.

Apartment B on the 17th through the 25th floors is a four-bedroom unit with a 12-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 34-foot-long living/dining room next to a 15-foot-wide, enclosed kitchen. P

Apartment C on the 17th through the 25th floors is a three-bedroom unit with a 10-foot-long entry foyer that leads past a pass-through kitchen to a 24-foot-wide living/dining room.

Apartment 5F is a two-bedroom unit with a 6-foot-wide entry foyer that leads past a pass-through, 12-foot-wide kitchen to a 24-foot-wide living/dining room.
