Carter's Review

This very attractive apartment building at 327 Central Park West was designed by Nathan Korn in 1928 and converted to a condominium in 2002.

The 17-story building has 87 apartments and is also known as 2 West 93rd Street. The Columbia Grammar and Columbia Preparatory Schools on nearby on the side-street.

Bottom Line

An attractive, pre-war apartment building with a 24-hour doorman overlooking the reservoir in Central Park.

Description

The Neo-Renaissance-style building has a canopied entrance on the side-street, a two-story rusticated limestone base and sidewalk landscaping.

It has narrow bandcourses above the 2nd, third, 7th, 11th and 15th floors and a small cornice.

It has protruding air-conditioners.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour doorman, a fitness center, a live-in superintendent, a bicycle room, private storage, consistent fenestration and is pet friendly. It has no garage, no balconies and no roof deck.

Apartment 17A is a three-bedroom unit with a 9-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 26-foot-square living room that opens onto an open, eat-in kitchen.

Apartment 13B is a three-bedroom unit with a 22-foot-wide entry foyer that leads in one direction to a 27-foot-long living room and in the other to a 12-foot-long dining room, a 10-foot-wide pantry and a 22-foot-long, windowed kitchen.

Apartment 15D is a two-bedroom unit with a 13-foot-wide entry foyer that opens onto a 19-foot-long living room and a 19-foot-wide, windowed kitchen.

Apartment 12D is a two-bedroom unit with a 13-foot-wide entry foyer that opens onto a 20-foot-long living room and a 9-foot-wide dining room off a long, enclosed kitchen.

Apartment 16C is a one-bedroom unit with a 12-foot-long entry foyer and a 19-foot-long living room with an open 18-foot-long, windowed kitchen with an island.
