300 West 23rd Street: Review and Ratings

between Eighth Avenue & Ninth Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 300 West 23rd Street by Carter Horsley

This 21-story apartment building is one of the most attractive in Chelsea.

Built in 1929-30, the 208-unit, beige-brick building was converted to a cooperative in 1985.

The handsome building's location is in the heart of Chelsea, a few blocks up Eighth Avenue from the splendid Joyce Theater, perhaps the city's nicest theater for dance, and a few blocks east of the Chelsea Piers recreational center on the Hudson River.

The building is very convenient for public transportation and many of the area's many interesting restaurants and art galleries are nearby and it is not all that far from the very trendy Flatiron District to the east on 23rd Street.
