Carter's Review
Built in 1964, this white-brick, midblock building is one of the largest in the Greenwich Village and Chelsea neighborhoods. The 14-story building has 489 apartments and was converted to a cooperative in 1984. The building's location just off Fifth Avenue makes it extremely convenient to the attractions of not only the Flatiron District, but also the Chelsea, Greenwich Village and Union Square neighborhoods. Many of the city's most attractive and trendy restaurants are within a few blocks' walk and public transportation is abundant and very convenient. In the late 1980's and the 1990's, this area became one of the city's most vibrant centers of publishing, advertising and photography.
