Carter's Review

This attractive, 10-story condominium apartment building at 229 9th Street in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn was built in 2019 and has 39 units.

It was developed by Happy Living Development, whose other projects in Brooklyn include Hello New York, a 40-unit condo at 651 New York Avenue, Hello Albemarle, a 43-unit building at 2417 Albemarle Road, and Hello Lenox, a 56-unit rental project at 271 Lenox, all in Prospect Lefferts Garden.

This building was designed by Luca Andrisani.

It is one block from the F, R and G subways.

 

Bottom Line

A handsome mid-rise condo in Gowanus that abounds in arches.

 

Description

The brick building has five stepped floors and many arched windows of different sizes with protruding frames.

It has a large, curved entrance marquee and many of its interiors have arched connections.

This building has a part-time doorman, a residents' lounge, a roof deck, a fitness center with Peloton bicycles, a party room with a landscaped terrace, a game room with billiards, a children's playroom, a pet space, a garage, and bicycle storage.
