Carter's Review
This attractive, 13-story building is at the base of Rutherford Place and overlooks the very nice Stuyvesant Park, which is similar to the nearby Gramercy Park except that it is not locked only for residents of surrounding properties.
This building was erected in 1959 and converted to a cooperative in 1983. It has 176 apartments. It is similar to another apartment house at 210 East 15th Street on the same block.
The white-brick building has a doorman, a nice, windowed lobby, a garage, a roof deck, sidewalk landscaping, a three-step-up entrance and green marble columns supported a slightly angled upwards marquee at its entrance. It is across the street from the very handsome and historic, red-brick house of the Religious Society of Friends.
The building has balconies at its east and west ends and discrete air-conditioners. It is also close to Union Square on 14th Street where there is excellent public transportation. There are many trendy and impressive restaurants nearby.
