Carter’s Review

"This attractive, brown-brick building was a commercial building that was originally erected to manufacture and warehouse silver products.

It later housed the New York offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for many years until the entire building was converted to rental apartments in 1980."

Broker & Resident Comments

This "office-to-residential conversion" offers "spacious" units with "9-foot ceilings" and "ample closet space," complemented by "first-rate fixtures" and a "very nice lobby." While the "extremely professional" doormen and "amazing" super earn consistent praise, tenants note the building's "paper-thin walls" can be problematic. Amenities include a "convenient" laundry room, roof deck, and gym, though some find these facilities "basic." Pre-war charm comes with typical vintage building challenges, leading to mixed reviews about overall value proposition.
