Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

Carter's Review

This attractive, brown-brick building was a commercial building that was originally erected to manufacture and warehouse silver products.

It later housed the New York offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for many years until the entire building was converted to rental apartments in 1980.

The large, 16-story building, which is known as the Fairfax and is located at 201 East 69th Street, has a three-story limestone base, occupies an entire blockfront on Third Avenue and its entrance is across from the impressive Trump Palace, the tallest building on the Upper East Side.

This area of Third Avenue is very desirable because of an abundance of luxury apartment towers and excellent neighborhood shopping with many restaurants. Some of the most beautiful sidestreets in the city are nearby and important cultural institutions are also in the vicinity.

Public transportation is also convenient.

This building, which is also known as 1187 Third Avenue and 210 East 70th Street, has 315 apartments. Amenities include a doorman, a 24-hour concierge, a landscaped roof deck, an entrance marquee, a bicycle room, storage space, a garage, marble baths, valet service and video security.
