On July 15, it will feel a bit more like a New York summer when Governors Island reopens. However, there are some changes in place: Starting July 10, tickets will go on sale for Governors Island ferries with limited capacity to allow for social distancing. Masks must be worn, even on the upper deck, and visitors must depart at the assigned ferry time selected at purchase. Outdoor events, indoor activities, and sports programs remain cancelled or closed, but the Urban Farm is open for passive visits on weekends, and the island will be open for activities like hiking, biking, walking, and running.
