Upon completion of construction at 550 Vanderbilt Avenue, the first completed residential building in Prospect Heights’ Pacific Park development revealed a model unit and both indoor and outdoor amenities. Photojournalist Field Condition took a tour of the COOKFOX-designed building, all the while noticing the building’s striking façade and panoramic midtown skyline views.

Like all residences, the model apartment features 10-foot ceilings and wide plank whitewashed hardwood flooring. The kitchen offers grey lacquer custom cabinetry, Carrara marble countertop and backsplash, and Miele appliances. Select units have private roof terraces. Building amenities include a library, fitness center, children’s playroom, and residents’ lounge with catering kitchen.
In addition to the indoor offerings, Field Condition also toured the building’s outdoor space. Indoor amenities will look onto a courtyard designed by Thomas Balsley, which will flow seamlessly into the future 8-acre park with green space, dog runs, and athletic space that will characterize Pacific Park. 550 Vanderbilt is topped with a roof deck with lounge seating, dining area, and a garden. These features are consistent with COOKFOX’s design connecting the building to nature and the building’s quest for LEED Silver certification.
The beautiful apartments and assortment of amenities got sales off to a brisk start, but a number of apartments remain on the market. Studios start at $760K; one-bedrooms start at $920K; two-bedrooms start at $1.495M; three-bedrooms start at $2.805M; and a penthouse is listed for $6.86M. There is also a smattering of rentals starting at $2,307/month for studios and $2,900/month for one-bedrooms.
550 Vanderbilt is located at the easternmost end of Pacific Park, a joint partnership between Forest City Ratner and Greenland USA that started with Barclays Center. Upon completion, the project will feature the aforementioned park as well as a new middle school, healthcare facility, shops, and more than 6,400 new apartments. 550 Vanderbilt also aims to connect with the local community through a Neighbors Partner Program collaboration.
