After years of being stuck in development limbo, 520 Fifth Avenue, an ambitious mixed-use skyscraper in the heart of Manhattan, is now nearing its peak. The 71-story tower, set to top out at 1,002 feet above street level will become the tallest residential building on the famed avenue, and only behind the Empire State Building overall. Trailing not far behind its reinforced concrete frame, its distinctive arched exterior curtain wall is about two-thirds of the way up. Sales launched earlier this year, and robust buyer interest has followed. Project completion is anticipated in 2026.
Rising from the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, just a block from Grand Central Terminal and Bryant Park, the project brings to market 100 ultra-luxury residences, most offering sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, the rivers, and peeks of Central Park.

With a slenderness ratio of 1:12, the tower measures just 85 feet wide along Fifth Avenue, making it one of the city's most slender skyscrapers. This slim silhouette, more akin to the pencil-like towers of Billionaires' Row than the bulkier office buildings of Midtown East, places 520 Fifth Avenue in the same rarefied air as the world's skinniest skyscraper, 111 West 57th Street, and similarly provides many private, full-floor homes with exposures in every direction.
The tower program is a mix of living, working, and leisure. Retail and dining spaces will occupy the ground floor, offices will span floors 5-28, and luxury residences will be located from floors 31-69.
The uppermost stories will feature penthouses and a residents' solarium, with river-to-river views and an up-close perspective of the Empire State Building. With no more than four residences per floor, some of which will feature open-air terraces, residents will enjoy unobstructed views of Midtown landmarks like Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the Chrysler Building.
The facade employs a succession of arched windows—adding a touch of elegance and timelessness to the building while maintaining a visual connection to the classically styled landmarks nearby.
Additionally, the arched apertures beautifully frame panoramic vistas and create a majestic sense of height and openness within each space. The arches soften the sharp lines of a skyscraper, offering a blend of tradition and modernity that elevates both the design and the living experience.
Crafted with the finest materials, these residences feature European-inspired mosaics, exquisite millwork, and richly veined stone, creating timeless spaces that are both elegant and evocative. Additional highlights include great rooms with triple exposures and private terraces in select units, ceiling heights exceeding 14 feet, 7-inch white oak wide-plank floors, and marble baths with radiant-heated floors.

520 Fifth Avenue will be one of over 25 supertall towers reshaping the Manhattan skyline in the coming decade. Poised to feature the highest residences on Fifth Avenue, this title may be short-lived. Just a half-mile north, Louis Vuitton is planning a mixed-use tower at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, and early renderings suggest it could rival 520 Fifth in both height and prominence.
In the meantime, as we await 520 Fifth Avenue's completion, below is a selection of available apartments featuring graceful arches that elevate and enhance their interiors.
