A typical spring might see over 8,000 New York City listings on the market at any given time. However, in a noticeable departure, there are currently 6,879 condos, co-ops, and condops for sale in core areas of New York. Manhattan's 5,660 listings show that the median condo price stands at $2.494 million (or $1,836 per square foot), and that co-ops come in at a median of $937K.

In the past seven days, 58 condos, co-ops, and townhouses throughout New York experienced price reductions. Please note that all the following figures reflect cumulative price cuts as opposed to the most recent slashed prices.

It is important to note that even New York's most fabulously luxurious buildings are not immune to the pandemic's economic fallout. At the beginning of 2019, 220 Central Park South was home to the country's most expensive home sale ever. More recently, it claims a more dubious honor: Apartment #28A, a fully furnished four-bedroom, saw its price fall 24% in the largest rental price cut over the past seven days.
