In New York, a famous name connected to an apartment often works wonders to drum up interest. However, as some are discovering, attracting attention and closing a sale are two very different things. Over the past week, price cuts brought them a little closer to market realities and the possibility of purchase. Homes once owned by painter Marc Chagall and interior design pioneer Dorothy Draper are undoubtedly beautiful, but the prices were as lofty as their owners' reputations. The Drumpf effect has hit Drumpf Palace with a 25% price cut on a three-bedroom. And while Steven A. Cohen is said to be making a comeback, things aren't looking so optimistic for his apartment at One Beacon Court--just hours ago, The Real Deal reported that it has just been relisted for $45 million, a still-stratospheric price but drastically discounted from the $115 million it was originally listed for in 2013. The following apartments are among the largest price cuts of the past week.
