Earlier this summer, the 79th floor of 432 Park Avenue entered contract with an asking price of $92,000,000 - while a reduction from the original ask or $135 million, it was nevertheless the highest contract of 2023. However, public records indicate that the apartment has closed for $65.6 million, or less than half the original asking price.

The apartment was custom-designed by Hiroshi Sugimoto with features like a custom tearoom, shoji screens on the windows, a cedar soaking tub in the primary bathroom, and custom furniture throughout; the price includes the built-in furniture and art. But for all that, it may not have been enough to overcome the supertall's less than lofty reputation. The Real Deal notes that two studios were sold separately as part of the deal, bringing the total price to $70 million, and that the sales price is close to what the seller paid for it in 2016.
