One of Soho’s most architecturally significant residences is now perhaps its most pop-culturally significant as well, thanks to Heidi Klum’s 17th annual Halloween bash. Well known for her love for the holiday and the bashes she throws in its honor, the star selected the crowning Penthouse at The Soho Gallery Building at 420 West Broadway to get into costume before her big bash. And get into costume she did…along with her five clones! Booking.com and Douglas Elliman’s Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon secured Klum the space as well as everything she needed to prep for her spooky ensemble.

Klum's residence of choice spans three stories at the top of the boutique coop building, with 3,500 square feet of interior space and 2,200 square feet of private landscaped terrace space. The unit features a triple-height great room with a grand fireplace (visible in Heidi’s Instagram), 23-foot-ceilings, and a home theater. Also prominent are the unit’s banquet-style dining room, glass-enclosed zen garden, master suite with a spa bathroom, and glass-enclosed kitchen with professional-grade appliances behind a paneled wall. Designed by Nico Rensch of Architeam and Victoria Blau Architects, the home features a serene and modern palette complete with hand-rubbed larch wood, honed volcanic basalt, and soaring glass panels.
The unit's two-story lushly planted terrace was created with both large-scale entertainment and individual relaxation in mind. Looking outwards, the space yields gorgeous panoramic 360-degree views of the ever-changing downtown skyline. The Penthouse is currently on the market for $15.95 million. At $4,557 per square foot, the coop is certainly pricier than the area’s current average coop asking price of $1,649 per square foot.
Originally built in 1900, the Soho Gallery Building was converted to a luxury coop in 2000. The 6-story building features two entrances, an attended lobby, a full-time super, a keyed elevator, a video intercom, private storage, and flexible pet and pieds-a-terre policies. Aside from the one-of-a-kind penthouse, there is also one unit for sale and one for rent: Unit 4W is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath residence on the market for $9.5 million, and Unit 2 is a 3-bed, 2.5-bath residence for $30,000/month. The average closing price for a coop in SoHo this November was $1,710 per square foot, up from last November’s average closing price of $1,527 per square foot.
