Design firm VUW Studio has released a sneak peak into just how exquisite the outdoor spaces at 550 Vanderbilt Avenue will be. Two new panoramic visuals depict the resident terrace on the 8th floor, the the private terrace for Penthouse North on the 17th floor. Both offer stunning views of Brooklyn, lush planted greenery, and space for seating. Though Penthouse North is currently off the market, the building’s Penthouse West is still available for $6.86 million (see listing).

In addition to Penthouse West, the building has 13 other condominiums currently listed for sale. One-bedrooms are priced from $890,000, two-bedrooms from $1.605 million, and three-bedrooms from $2.89 million. A two-level maisonette townhouse with a massive master suite is also available for $4.65 million. Occupancy for the thoughtfully designed residences is expected this year.
550 Vanderbilt's residences feature lofty ceilings, ample light, and oversized windows. Kitchens have white Carrara marble countertops and backsplashes, Miele appliances, polished chrome Grohe fixtures, and custom cabinetry. Spacious baths are home to Carrara marble flooring and Grohe fixtures. The buildings’ lovely maisonette units have been designed to embody classic brownstone Brooklyn living. Design team COOKFOX employed biophilic design principles throughout 550 Vanderbilt for a sustainable living experience. The architecture firm masterfully connected every space to nature both inside and out by using natural materials like chamfered precast, wood infill screens, organic patterned screens, and flowering planters. The building is seeking a LEED silver rating with its sophisticated air filtration systems, FSC-certified wood, natural stone, and low-VOC finishes, paints, and fabrics.
Amenities inside the full-service building include a cozy library, a fitness center by The Wright Fit, a children’s playroom, an on-site parking garage, and a resident’s lounge with a catering kitchen. There are also outdoor perks like a landscaped and furnished roof deck with grills and garden plots, and a Thomas Balsey-designed courtyard. More services include 24-hour concierge, bicycle and private storage, and a pet spa.
550 Vanderbilt Avenue stands as a 17-story, 278-unit condominium building on the corner of Vanderbilt Avenue and Dean Street – the first residential building of the Pacific Park development, a joint partnership between Greenland USA and Forest City Ratner Companies. Pacific Park is in Brooklyn's bustling Prospect Heights and will ultimately feature 16 buildings and more than 6,400 apartments. At the center of it all sits the Thomas Balsey Associates-designed Pacific Park, with 8 acres of green space, lawns, a dog run, and athletic space. The development also features many new retail outlets as well as a new day care, middle school, and senior center.
Situated in Prospect Heights, the condos join 75 other units for sale in the neighborhood that have a median price of $1.25 million, or $1,089 square feet. The average closing price for a condo in the area in CityRealty's October market report was approximately $1,108 per square foot, up from last October’s average closing price of $996 per square foot.
