Overview of The Cosmopolitan at 145 East 48th Street

This Cosmopolitan at 145 East 48th Street is a chic tower in the heart of Midtown East.

Designed in 1986 by award-winning architects Gruzen Sampton Steinglass, this 34-story, rose-colored Cosmopolitan has two distinctive rounded piers of bay windows that fill  apartments with light and afford expansive city and river views. Many apartments have bay windows that create deep circular recesses – perfect for a dining table or a private seating area. Bathrooms are stylishly tiled with cool gray Travertine marble. Many kitchens have been updated and one of the most unusual features of these residences is that larger units have an extra entertaining kitchen. Apartments have entry foyers, good closets and some have terraces.

Amenities at the Cosmopolitan include a 24-hour doorman, concierge, a live-in super, a roof deck, a courtyard, a private conference room, a full-service parking garage and a laundry room.

It is within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal and the Midtown business district. It’s also near to many boutiques and restaurants.

Carter’s Review

"This 35-story unit condominium tower known as the Cosmopolitan at 145 East 48th Street is the most attractive apartment tower close to Grand Central Terminal.

In an area surrounded by older hotel buildings and offices, this mid-block tower is a stunner and its vigorous and interesting design would lead one to think it was designed for a more exposed site on an avenue. It opened in 1986. "
