Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Dec 23, 2011
49 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This very attractive, 13-story, beige-brick, mid-block apartment building across from the south side of the 7th Regiment Armory, is a cooperative and has 55 apartments.

It is distinguished by very extensive and impressive sidewalk landscaping, which includes tress in polished red granite planters. The building has a three-step-down, canopied entrance, a doorman, and many corner windows. It permits protruding air-conditioners and has no garage, no health club, no roof deck and no balconies.

It is just to the west of the Cosmopolitan Club, one of the city's most exclusive clubs for women. The Union Club and the Explorers Club are also nearby as is the Asia Society and Hunter College.

Lexington Avenue has a very wide mix of retail in this area, which is close to Bloomingdale's and traffic heading for the Queensborough Bridge. There is cross-town bus service on 67th Street where there is also a subway station at Lexington Avenue.

The sidestreets in this area are very attractive.
