Originally constructed in 1920 by architect Gaetano Ajello and converted to co-op in 1984, it reflects Ajello's signature Renaissance and Neoclassical styles. Known for his designs inspired by single-family homes, Ajello often included lobbies with curved balustrade staircases at the entrance, adding a welcoming, residential feel. Originally from Sicily, Ajello became renowned in New York for his distinctive approach to architecture.
