Carter's Review

This 7-story building at 52 Thomas Street on the southeast corner at Church Street in TriBeCa was created from four loft buildings that were built in 1915 as shoe factories and a 1980s addition and converted in 2006 to a residential condominium with 20 loft apartments.

Jeffrey Cole was the architect for the conversion that was undertaken by 200 Church St Association.

Bottom Line

This attractive and well-located residential condominium building in TriBeCa has a full-time doorman, few apartments, a roof deck and high ceilings.

Description

The beige brick building has a one-story stone base and a cornice above the fifth floor.  The building has a brass entrance marquee.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour doorman, a large roof deck, private storage, a bicycle room, cold storage for deliveries, and a laundry room on each floor.

Apartments

All residences have airy loft-inspired layouts with ceiling heights up to 11½ feet. They have Brazilian hardwood floors, Zebrawood entry doors, state-of-the-art wiring, Balsatina volcanic stone countertops, and individual climate control. Kitchens have Sub-Zero, Bosch and Miele appliances.

Penthouse A is a two-bedroom unit with a 29-foot-wide living/dining room with a 12-foot-wide pass-through kitchen. The second bedroom opens on the long east terrace that leads up two stairs to the large north terrace that is accessed from the master bedroom.

Apartment 5A is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads to a 25-foot-long living/dining room with a 10-foot-wide, pass-through kitchen. 

Apartment 4D is a three-bedroom unit with a long entry foyer that leads to a 24-foot-wide living/dining room with a 10-foot-wide pass-through kitchen.

Apartment 5C is a two-bedroom unit with a 22-foot-square living room with a 12-foot-long dining area next to a pass-through, 10-foot-long kitchen.
