Carter's Review
This 3-story building at 172 North 10th Street between Bedford Avenue and Driggs Avenue in Williamsburg was erected more than one hundred years ago and was expanded by two setback and glassy floors in 2014. It has 14 condominium apartments.
The renovation and expansion was designed by The Meshberg Group.
The building is not far from McCarren Park.
Bottom Line
A good conversion and expansion of a low-rise Williamsburg building more than 100 years old with some fireplaces, high ceilings, and brick walls.
Description
The base of this building conjures, from street-level, an Edward Hopper painting of a low-rise, red-brick building with raised eyebrows. From the air, it has a two-story, glassy rooftop addition that is significantly setback.
Much of the original building's timber was reused in the lobby and parts of all the units.
Amenities
Fitness room, garage, bicycle room, keyless entry, virtual doorman, and some fireplaces.
