Carter's Review
444 East 84th Street, also known as Claiborne House, is a handsome, red-brick, 11-story building erected in 1963. It is a cooperative with 94 apartments.
The building has a canopied entrance with a doorman and a concierge, a garage, impressive, balconies, protected views, discrete air-conditioners, sidewalk landscaping, and consistent fenestration. It has no health club and no roof deck.
It is close to Carl Schurz Park and the East River, several private schools and a south-bound entrance to the FDR Drive at 79th Street. There is good cross-town bus service on 79th Street, and the building is conveniently located near the Second Avenue subway and the new express ferry service to 34th Street and Pier 11/Wall Street.
