New York has no shortage of fitness studios and boutique fitness centers. However, gym membership is optional for residents of a growing number of buildings: New development condos are making increasingly luxurious, well-appointed fitness centers a key component of their amenity package. They feature high ceilings, luxe finishes, state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment, and bells and whistles like pools, sports courts, and specialty equipment. Not only do facilities like these make it easier for residents to fit in a workout, but they foster a sense of community among fitness enthusiasts in the building.

Indoor basketball court and rock climbing wall
The latest example may be found at Radiant, a newly launched condominium in Long Island City. The 19-story building designed by ODA is immediately distinguished by its undulating facade, setback windows, and private terraces in the majority of apartments. The first public availabilities start at $665K for studios, $870K for one-beds, $1.575 million for two-beds, and $2.49 million for three-beds.
Residents of these homes are set to enjoy interiors by Paris Forino, abundant light from floor-to-ceiling windows, open-concept layouts, kitchens with marble countertops and integrated Bosch appliances, and baths with marble accents. They will also have access to a wide selection of carefully curated health and wellness amenities. A spacious, sun-lit fitness center is at the heart of it, and additional offerings include a basketball court, a rock climbing wall, and a Finnish sauna.
Radiant's first move-ins are expected for next year, and a sales gallery is now open. In the meantime, we look at residential buildings with fitness centers and amenities to rival New York's most luxurious gyms.
