Orlando Bloom joins celebrity roster in TriBeCa loft building; Simon Cowell goes traditional with an Upper East Side pad; Steven Soderbergh seeks a buyer; Deepak Chopra sells midtown condo with park views.
Director Steven Soderbergh is trying to sell two separate NYC homes. His sprawling TriBeCa loft at 155 Franklin Street–also home to Taylor Swift and, more recently, Orlando Bloom–is back on the market after only a year and big renovation plans but no finished reno (he reportedly bought a bigger space in the building instead). The $6 million condo spans 3,532 square feet and has been stripped in preparation for a complete overhaul, with plans in place by architect Elizabeth Roberts. The Ocean’s Eleven director is also hoping to sell his three-bedroom apartment at 147 West 22nd Street in Chelsea for $5 million (NYDN).
TV personality and producer Simon Cowell just acquired an Upper East Side home for his new family. The mouthy Brit, girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their new baby will reportedly be the next residents of penthouse B at 151 East 78th Street, recently listed for $10.85 million. The 3,381-square-foot apartment has four exposures, white polished slab marble floors and custom-designed hardware (NYPost).
Personal-development guru and quintessential New Ager Deepak Chopra just sold a two-bedroom condo in Midtown. The 69th floor apartment at the Park Imperial at 230 West 56th Street faces Central Park and was featured on CNBC’s Secret Lives of the Super Rich: Mega Homes. Chopra’s more recent real estate focus has been the Delos “wellness building” at 66 East 11th Street, where Leo DiCaprio just bought a pricey pad (CurbedNY).
Celebrities may soon outnumber mere mortals at the Franklin Street Lofts; Heartthrob/Hobbit Orlando Bloom recently bought a three-bedroom loft condo at the 155 Franklin Street residence for $4.875 million. Lofts in the historic building offer cast-iron columns, exposed brick walls, classic beamed ceilings and open-plan kitchens. The actor’s neighbors will include Taylor Swift and director Steven Soderbergh (NYPost).
