With local vaccination numbers climbing and pandemic cases very low, the New York City Marathon returns Sunday, November 6, 2021, after a one-year hiatus. After starting in Staten Island and Brooklyn, the 26.2-mile course winds its way through Manhattan twice: up First Avenue on the way to the Bronx, and then down Fifth Avenue toward the finish line in Central Park.
The prize money comes in at a total of $777,500 that will be shared equally between men and women. The male and female winners of the Open Division will each receive $100,000 in prize money, enough to make a down payment on an entry-level Manhattan apartment. In the link, we take a look at listings along the marathon route priced below $750,000.
