Fab Collabs: Swedish Hasbeens for H & M

APRIL 22, 2011

The result of a collaboration between traditional Swedish clog shop Hasbeens and one-stop trend vendor H & M might be this spring’s best style find.

Unless you’ve been under a very unfashionable rock for a season or two, you’ll know that 70s-inspired clogs of all heights have been one of the most copied, blogged-about footwear trends to recently cycle back through the decades and rise to the top of the style pile. All the cool girls are wearing the handmade kind; among the top brands is Swedish Hasbeens, handmade in Sweden using natural materials. The increasingly ubiquitous Hasbeens have turned up at stores like Urban Outfitters, where they they retail from between $185 and $300, and on the company’s own site (retail price is roughly similar after conversion from SEK). Swedish Hasbeens for H & M come in three on-trend–and very wearable–styles and a few basic ’70s-chic hues. Their natural wood soles, leather straps and silver buckles look as pared-down and comfy-chic as the ones from the source. The big difference: The H & M versions in this limited-edition collection will only set you back $59 - $69. Hasbeens arrived in H & M stores on April 20, and, though most sizes were gone by the end of the day, more are on the way daily. Read more from Refinery29.
