Catch-and-Release Fishing at Harlem Meer
At 11 acres, Harlem Meer at the Park's northern end is the second largest manmade body of water in Central Park. Since it was renovated in the late '90s, it is also considered one of the prettiest. The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center offers catch-and-release fishing from April to October—which has built a small following among laid-back anglers and promises to be great family fun. The Meer is well-stocked with fish and the center provides free poles and bait. There's also outdoor jazz every Sunday afternoon.
Catch-and-Release Fishing
