Books are out, bargains are in at Lincoln Square; Sales start up at the Parc Standard
Bookstore mega-chain Barnes & Noble will be closing up shop at One Lincoln Square at the end of this year due to a rent increase. The familiar retail store has been a popular reading room for locals and visitors to nearby performing arts mecca Lincoln Center since it opened 15 years ago, and many neighborhood-watchers are sad to see it go. The next tenant to occupy the four-story space will reportedly be popular designer-labels-for-less chain Century 21.
Sales have started at the Parc Standard condominium at 2101 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem. The 10-story residence one block to the east of Morningside Park has a two-tone charcoal gray facade and faux-grass flooring and log seating in the lobby. The building also offers residents a roof deck with a fireplace and gas barbecue, a 24-hour virtual doorman, bathrooms with deep soaking tubs and Total dual flush toilets and more.
