Jared Kushner to add pricey penthouses to historic Puck Building; you can now live in the chocolate factory of your Willy Wonka dreams

Observer publisher and real estate developer Jared Kushner has announced plans to add six enormous penthouse units to the historic Puck Building in SoHo. The Romanesque Revival style building, erected in 1885, is recognizable by the gilded statues of Puck, the impish character from “A Midsummer’s Night Dream,” above its Lafayette Street entrance and on its eastern corner on Houston Street. Units in the young mogul’s new venture will range in price from $15 million to $50 million and will have their own private lobby and entrance on Lafayette Street.

Marketing has started on The Union, a 7-story, 94-unit rental apartment building in the former Manhattan Chocolate Factory at 568 Union Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The new residence is near McCarren Park and features a private outdoor courtyard with swimming pool, a fitness center, and a concierge.
