The city’s museums open their doors after hours to give culture vultures more party options.

The New York Comedy Festival
A lot of funny people will be in town during this annual celebration of people who are funny for a living. Ha-ha-highlights include Ricky Gervais, Bill Maher, the crew from The Onion News Network, Saturday Night Live writers, Kathy Griffin, Louis C.K. and more.

The Guggenheim International Gala with MGMT
Join the Guggenheim for dinner, cocktails and a party hosted by the Young Collectors Council in celebration of Maurizio Cattelan: All. The event will feature popular indie psych-rockers MGMT. The band will also be featured at a museum after-hours event the following evening.

The Crazy Camera Ball at the Jewish Museum
This retro-party, part of the Upper East Side Jewish Museum’s new arty-party series The Wind-Up, is being thrown in celebration of The Radical Camera: New York’s Photo League 1936-1951, an exhibition of over 100 photographs of the city taken during the ’30s and ’40s. The young street photographers were known for their wild soirees, called Crazy Camera Balls. A DJ will be spinning pop songs from the ’30s and ’40s, and attire from the era is encouraged. Brooklyn Brewery is providing the beer, Williamsburg’s The Drink is mixing the punch.

Family Architecture Class: Skyscrapers!
E.nopi, a West Village math education franchise center for kids is offering a special Veteran’s Day class in partnership with the Center for Architecture Foundation. Students will learn about the architecture of skyscrapers as they explore the fundamentals of building structure and the forces at work in tall buildings and then build their own structural models of skyscrapers. Space is limited to 12 participants.

The Kitchen Benefit Art Auction
A lot of cool art by really important contemporary artists like Cory Arcangel, Andrew Kuo, Elizabeth Peyton and Paul Sietsema will be heading out the door in silent and live auctions at this fundraiser for the also-important Chelsea arts and culture center The Kitchen. Get yours!

Live Music Round-Up
Kurt Vile brings the Violators with him to Webster Hall; Le Poisson Rouge hosts some some important pioneers of electronic music, like Morton Subotnick, composer of “Silver Apples of the Moon,” and some important followers in the footsteps of the pioneers of electronic music, like Plaid.
