Explores color in contemporary art, featuring work by some forty artists ranging from Ellsworth Kelly and Gerhard Richter to Sherrie Levine and Damien Hirst. This program also features Color Lab, which offers “materials for families to conduct their own exploration of color choice…experiment with giant magnetic boards, play games and activities, or create their own color-choice systems using colored pencils and paper.”

Michel Gondry: Be Kind Rewind @  Deitch Projects

Following the premise from his newest film, “Be Kind Rewind,” filmmaker Michel Gondry’s exhibition at this always-interesting SoHo art space gives visitors a chance to create their own renditions of films,  which will then be available for screening and rental. The auteur says that with this interactive exhibit he is  “hoping to create a network of creativity and communication that is guaranteed to be free and independent from any commercial institution.” Just like in the movie!
   
Free Cooking Class: Short Ribs
This completely free cooking “tutorial” at gourmet sandwich spot Starwich focuses on braising and making short ribs.  After the class, you’ll be able to sample your creations with some complimentary wine.
