Doctor Atomic at the Metropolitan Opera
Pulitzer Prize-winning opera composer John Adams works with longtime collaborator Peter Sellars on this critical take on the life and decisions of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer. The piece is based on personal memoirs and declassified government documents, and its story begins in June 1945 as the first atomic bomb is about to be tested.
