World Science Festival
From the opening night gala to the over 50 events throughout the week, this celebration of knowledge and curiosity promises to expand your mind and open your eyes. Highlights include Maggie Gyllenhaal as Marie Curie, Phillip Glass on the Enigma of Genius, insights on memory and longevity and much more.

Gotham Dance Festival
Gotham Arts returns to The Joyce with expanded programming and a newly-branded festival. In addition to shared evenings featuring Monica Bill Barnes & Company, Brian Brooks Moving Company, Kate Weare Company, CorbinDances, the festival will showcase six talented emerging artists.

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars at Museum of Arts and Design
Shot in legendary documentarian D.A. Pennebaker’s trademark vérité style, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars captures the band on the night of July 3, 1973, on what was purported to be the final appearance of Bowie’s legendary glam rock alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust. Widely considered to be one of the greatest concert documentaries of the 70s, the film captures Ziggy and the Spiders from Mars at their most electrifying.

This revelatory “secret history” illuminates the Feminist Art movement through interviews with and works by visionary artists, scholars and critics like Miranda July, The Guerrilla Girls, Yvonne Rainer, Judy Chicago, Marina Abramovic, Yoko Ono, Cindy Sherman and Barbara Kruger with a score by Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein.

This week’s concert highlights include Ariel Pink’s Haunted Grafitti at Irving Plaza, Keren Ann at the Bell House and Bowery Ballroom, Melvins at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and Against Me! with Screaming Females at Webster Hall.
