In New York, the third weekend of October 2024 offers something for everyone. Gourmands have the New York Wine and Food Festival; pop culture aficionados have New York Comic Con; pet lovers have the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade; and architecture enthusiasts have Open House New York (OHNY) Weekend.
OHNY was established in the weeks following the 9/11 attacks of 2001 to advocate for openness and engage New Yorkers in the city’s architecture and infrastructure. The inaugural OHNY Weekend took place in 2003 across 84 sites in the five boroughs; 21 years later, OHNY Weekend offers over 300 participating sites. From October 18-20, OHNY Weekend will offer behind-the-scenes looks at skyscrapers, public works facilities, cultural institutions, outdoor spaces, and other places that define the New York experience with a series of talks, tours, and other activities. The full itinerary and tickets may be found here.
